eyelid metastasis originating from lung adenocarcinoma

purpose: to report a case of metastatic tumor to the right upper eyelid originating from a lung adenocarcinoma without any systemic signs. case report: a 68-year-old man had a two-month history of painless swelling in the right upper eyelid. the tumor slowly grew. two years before his presentation, he had received chemotherapy for lung cancer for one year. systemic and ocular examinations were unremarkable. biopsy of the lesion showed a moderate to poorly discriminated aggressive adenocarcinoma similar to lung adenocarcinoma. conclusion: despite eyelid metastases are usually observed in patients with a known malignancy, it can be the first sign of a malignant neoplasm. therefore, biopsy of suspicious or recurrent lesions should be performed to rule out such lesions.
